Role Background:

Join a growing team for a summer contract position with an exciting opportunity to build a new Canadian convenience brand and offer. Reporting to the Brand and Communications Manager, this role will be primarily responsible for executing on the local product category management as part of the convenience retail brand positioning.


Role requirements:

  • Local Product Category Management
    • Execute local product sourcing, selection, distribution and overall category management tactics as determined by the convenience retail team
    • Engage local producers and suppliers for improved category sales
    • Support broader convenience retail team in promotion cycle
  • Category analysis and support
    • Work collaboratively with the convenience retail team on category management insights that drive incremental margin improvement
    • Support broader category management initiatives where required
  • Support overall BG Fuels Convenience Retail Team
    • Opportunities for additional work in marketing, promotions, activations, category management, analytics, research and insights based on immediate corporate needs and individual capabilities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a university program, preferably in retail, business, commerce or marketing

  • Passion for retail and product management
  • Able to multi-task and manage a number of differing priorities

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
